================================================================== ACM International Conference on Computing Frontiers 2019 (CF'19) April 30 - May 2, 2019, Alghero, Sardinia, Italy CALL FOR POSTERS !!! Extended Submission Deadline: March 21st, 2019 www.computingfrontiers.org ================================================================== The next ACM International Conference on Computing Frontiers will be held April 30 - May 2 in Alghero, Sardinia, Italy. Computing Frontiers is an eclectic, collaborative community of researchers who investigate emerging technologies in the broad field of computing: our common goal is to drive the scientific breakthroughs that transform society. Technology is experiencing revolutions in memory devices and systems, networks, electronic device production, machine learning, data analytics, cloud computing, techniques to improve power and energy efficiency, and systems portability/wearability, to name but a few areas. New application domains that affect everyday life are emerging, especially in the era of highly interconnected and collaborative cyber-physical systems. Boundaries between the state-of-the-art and revolutionary innovation constitute the frontiers that mark the advances of science, engineering, and information technology. CALL FOR POSTERS ================ Following the regular paper submissions, the Organizing Committee of the 2019 Computing Frontiers conference announces the addition to the program of a **brand new Poster Session**. We open an extended period to encourage poster paper submissions covering very latest research findings, works-in-progress and incipient positioning ideas and results in all aspects of computing. The **two-page poster papers will be included in the conference proceedings** and the authors will **retain copyright**.. AT THE CONFERENCE ================= Besides the standard display of posters, the session will commence with **lightning talks**, a.k.a. elevator pitch, where authors will introduce their work to the attendees. There will be a **Best Poster Award** based on voting by the Poster Program Committee. IMPORTANT DATES =============== Submissions Deadline: March 21st, 2019 Author Notification: March 26th, 2019 Camera-Ready Papers Due: April 1st, 2019 SUBMISSIONS =========== Authors must submit a **two-page extended abstract** (including references) describing the content and the research ideas in the poster. The extended abstract should be structured similar to a technical paper. All poster submissions will be reviewed by the Poster Program Committee. Submissions will be handled through EasyChair at: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=cf2019 TOPICS OF INTEREST ================== Innovative Approaches, Algorithms, and Models of Computing, Including but Not Limited to Approximate and inexact computing, probabilistic computing Quantum computing Biological computing models, including brain computing, neural computing, computational neuroscience, and biologically-inspired architectures Reconfigurable computing Dataflow approaches Approaches to Overcoming Technological Limitations Limits on technology scaling and Moore's Law Defect- and variability-tolerant designs New materials such as graphene Nanoscale design, optoelectronics, and dark silicon New memory designs such as 3D stacked technology Challenges for many-core designs and accelerators Dealing with manufacturing variability Computing on mobile devices Embedded and Cyber-Physical Systems Design space exploration and modeling and development frameworks Ultra-low power designs, energy scavenging Reactive and real-time systems, reconfigurable and self-aware systems Sensor networks, internet of things, and architectural innovation for wearable computing New Approaches for Big Data Analytics and Machine and Deep Learning High performance data analytics Data search and representation Novel architecture and system designs Large-Scale System Design Homogeneous and heterogeneous architectures, runtimes, networking Power- and energy-management for clouds, data centers, and exascale systems Fault Tolerance and Resilience Solutions for ultra-large and safety-critical systems Hardware and software approaches to cope with adverse environments such as space Compiler Technologies Advanced/novel analyses Hardware/software integrated solutions High-level synthesis Programming Languages, Models, and Runtimes Development environments and tools New programming approaches for next generation systems and applications Domain-specific languages Task-based approaches Graphical and high-level programming Performance analysis, debugging, correctness tools System Software Advances in operating systems, virtualization, and container technologies New approaches for resource and job management, and scheduling Workflow systems Security Methods, system support, and hardware for protecting against malicious code Real-time implementations of security algorithms and protocols Quantum and post-quantum cryptography Advanced persistent threats, cyber and physical attacks, and countermeasures Computers and Society, Interdisciplinary Applications Education, health, cost/energy-efficient design, smart cities, and emerging markets Applications bridging multiple disciplines in interesting ways ORGANIZATION ============ Computing Frontiers 2019 Chairs General Co-Chairs: Francesca Palumbo, Universita degli Studi di Sassari, IT Michela Becchi, North Carolina State University, US Program Co-Chairs: Martin Schulz, Technical University of Munich, DE Kento Sato, RIKEN R-CCS, JP Posters Co-Chairs: Masaaki Kondo, University of Tokyo, JP Ruben Salvador, Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, ES Artifact Evaluation Co-Chairs: Flavio Vella, Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, IT Carlo Sau, University of Cagliari, IT Workshops Chairs: Gianluca Palermo, Politecnico di Milano, IT Registration Chair: Tiziana Fanni, Universita degli Studi di Cagliari, IT Publications Co-Chairs: Josef Weidendorfer, Leibniz Supercomputing Centre, DE Miquel Pericas, Chalmers University of Technology, SE Finance Chair: Peter Zinterhof, Leibniz Supercomputing Centre, DE Local Arrangements Co-Chairs: Claudio Rubattu, Universita degli Studi di Sassari, IT Simone Vuotto, Universita degli Studi di Sassari, IT Industry/Special Session Co-Chairs: Antonino Tumeo, PNNL, US Miquel Moreto, Barcelona Supercomputing Center, ES Industrial Sponsorship Chair: Ramon Bertran Monfort, IBM, US Publicity Chairs: Marziyeh Nourian, North Carolina State University, US Christian Pilato, Politecnico di Milano, IT James Lin, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, CN Web Chair: Kristian Rietveld, Leiden University, NL Computing Frontiers Steering Committee Monica Alderighi, INAF, IT John Feo, PNNL, US Hubertus Franke, New York University / IBM Research, US Alexander Heinecke, Intel Parallel Computing Lab, US Paul Kelly, Imperial College London, UK Sally A.
